Bela Bajaria was born in 1966 (age 55 years; as in 2021) in London, England. He spent part of his childhood in the UK, Zambia and Los Angeles. His grandparents were from India, but they moved to Africa to set up businesses there. Later, his parents, who were born in East Africa, moved to London. After Bella’s birth, her parents moved to the United States when Bella was just 4 years old. In 1978, she was enrolled in local Los Angeles public schools, and worked as a cashier while attending Torrance High School and Rolling Hills High School. , She graduated from the College of Liberal Arts, California State University, Long Beach in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.

In the 1970s, when Bella was just 4 years old, her parents moved to the United States with her 4-month-old brother and a younger sister to set up a car wash business. Soon, Bajaria’s parents became illegal immigrants as they overstayed their visa period. Meanwhile, while her parents arranged for an investor visa, Bella lived with her grandparents. Moving to Los Angeles at 8 o’clock was very nerve-wracking. Being the eldest child, I felt the complete need and responsibility to fulfill the sacrifices of my parents, in order to succeed. So that revealed a lot about who I am.”

She started working as a cashier when she was studying in high school. After completing high school, she participated in beauty pageants and won the Miss LA India pageant, Miss India USA and Miss India Worldwide 1991. When an interviewer asked him how it all happened, he said,
I was 19 years old. I was trying to be proud of my heritage while assimilating into America. My family said, “You should do this. You will meet Indian girls from all over the world. The competition inspired me to embrace Indian culture on my own terms. People were surprised that I won, but I think I did well because there was no stake for me. After completing his graduation, he started working at Vijay Amritraj’s company, First Serve Entertainment, as a creative executive in-charge of production. In 1996, he worked with CBS in the movie and mini-series department. She left CBS for a short time and joined Warner Bros. Television, where she was a manager of movies and mini-series.
