Hoda’s battle with cancer and divorce
During a recent segment, the Today The presenter recalled one of her lowest moments: a time in her life when she was “barely functioning.”
At the time, Hoda was divorcing her ex-husband Burzis Kanga while also battling breast cancer.
As reported by The US sun, Hoda explained: “I went through a divorce and breast cancer simultaneously, and I remembered that I was barely functioning at the time, and I thought, ‘Is this it? Is this how everything goes?”
She continued: “I was thinking about some of my lowest moments during that time, what contributed to it all was that I was in horrible health and I didn’t care about that part, and you don’t realize how bad it was. It gets worse and then you make it worse, your health gets worse, because you are not well, and the situation went on and on.”
Looking back, Hoda explained that she wishes she had been kinder to herself during difficult times.
“You realize that when you’re on solid ground again, you look back and think, ‘Oh my God, I didn’t take an hour for myself,’ there were all the things I never did that I’m doing now. do today that makes a big difference,” he concluded.
