It was 2010-2011, I was in the top 5 Indian players in men’s singles. One day I started having back pain and it was discovered that air bubbles had formed in the bones of my spine. I was asked to leave the game. I consulted about 10 doctors but no one could give me any solution. I remained bedridden for about 20 days. Even to go to the washroom I had to be supported and there was a fear of paralysis in the lower part of the body but I was not ready to leave. After a few weeks, I started trying things. Every day I tried a new method. I tried Ayurvedic and every possible thing and gradually found a way out. Eventually rehabilitation, exercise and following a strict regime helped. I had to leave singles but after 3-4 years I felt I was getting better.
