Band member Danity Kane blew up on Instagram after critics slammed her for posting racy photos of herself.
Celebrities and everyday people alike frequently use social media to post personal photos of their daily lives. However, some people tend to overshare. Just ask singer Aubrey O’Day, who is facing criticism after posting rather provocative photos of herself on Instagram.
“All his lips are out!”
On Wednesday, the 39-year-old pop and R&B singer called out several Instagram social media users for leaving negative comments on a series of photos she shared on the platform.
O’Day is seen wearing a pair of high-waisted jean shorts with frayed leg slits and a denim coat with part fur and her bare chest on display.
Fans were extremely critical of the fact that O’Days’ “full labia” were hanging out of her shorts in the leggy photos.
“Instead of removing all your labia… maybe work on your pedicure babes,” one commenter replied.
Several other comments criticized the singer’s appearance in the photos which continue to receive negative attention.
One user said: “She used to be pretty 😮.”
“She used to be very pretty, now cartoonish and always showing too much skin in my opinion,” another user responded. His comment received a total of 59 likes.
Shortly after the rude comments started coming in, the “Show Stopper” vocalist responded and wrote: “[My labia] It’s not available and I don’t have time to go to the nail salon like most women. In fact, I’m here working on building my dream projects. I’m glad you have all the time in the world to do it, congratulations!
O’Day quickly responded to a commenter who wrote: “Why does there have to be a crotch shot everywhere nowadays??? Recover the class………”
Once again, O’Day applauded the negative comment left beneath her collection of NSFW photos.
“It’s really just a pose. I did it post on stage with Danity Kane. I shoot a lot… I’ve done every pose ever invented here. hahaha”, responded the singer.
In another comment about the “Damaged” singer’s body, one said: “Butt ain’t bumpin’ ma’am.”
This time, O’Day responded: “Well, the cigarette butt only works with [sic] My butt does it when it’s completely natural! Talk to evolution or God if that’s what you like.”
Aubrey O’Day shares how she has struggled with body image for years
Despite the heated comments section, other fans seemed to be more supportive of O’Day’s decision to post the photos showing off her physique.
“Haters gonna hate. …You shouldn’t comment on someone’s appearance when you have a lot of work to do yourself!” one fan commented.
“I appreciate you bringing looks to my Instagram feed because otherwise it would be boring,” another fan said.
O’Day has been candid about the effect body shammers have had on her mental health since she became famous in the early 2000s. “My body has been on the chopping block since I was 17,” she explained. the famous singer during an interview in 2022. “I will spend the rest of my life trying to heal from how many inaccurate things have been said about me.”
Last year, O’Day received criticism for Photoshopping her social media posts. After she was called out, the singer defended herself in a separate interview saying:
“Not that I need to explain myself, but I’ve been in this industry for over 20 years and have traveled the world since I was seven years old. If I want my Instagram to be curated like an ART museum, then that’s what’s going to happen. “I am an artist, a REAL creator.”
We’ll admit, that’s quite a bit of skin! However, Aubrey O’Day is an adult woman, capable of making her own decisions. On the other hand, trolls are not a secret on the Internet. While many celebrities tend to ignore negative comments, O’Day seemed noticeably affected by the criticism. We wish you the strength to prioritize self-love and continue doing what is best for her well-being.
Kim Kardashian criticized for using Photoshop… again
In a similar story, Kim Kardashian was criticized for the umpteenth time for using Photoshop in a recent series of photos she posted on Instagram.
At first glance, the photo looks good. However, eagle-eyed fans weren’t fooled by the business owner and reality TV star’s allegedly doctored image.
“That’s horrible photoshop! I hate it when the basket behind me melts into my thighs,” one commenter joked.
“Being 40 years old and still retouching your photos (especially when everything is warped) is so delusional it’s pathetic and sad,” another user wrote.
What do you think about celebrities using Photoshop for their photographs?
In any case, stories like this serve as a powerful reminder of why we should never compare ourselves to the distorted reality that is social media.
