Ashwanath Ashokkumar was born on Thursday, 15 September 2011 (age 10 years; as in 2021) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He studied at Vani Vidyalaya Senior Secondary and Junior College, Chennai. Ashwanath’s talent was first recognized when he was in first grade. He got his first opportunity to appear on television in a reality show. Later, due to his impressive talent he received many project offers for Tamil language films and television shows.

Ashwanth Ashokkumar made his first television appearance in 2016 as a contestant in the Tamil reality show ‘Junior Super Star’, which was an adaptation of the Hindi-language reality show titled ‘India’s Best Dramebaaz’. He was the winner of the respective season. In 2017, he appeared as Ashwanth in a television serial titled ‘Maila Thiranthathu Kathvu’ (Season 2) aired on Zee Tamil. After appearing as an actor in films and television series, Ashwanath decided to come out as a writer and director amid the nationwide lockdown in the wake of COVID-19, and he has written a children’s drama, a YouTube series ‘ Made ‘Ondipulli’. Everything in this series including story, screenplay, dialogues and voice-overs was done by Ashwanath. The story focuses on the life of animals in the jungle, where two tigers hunt the animals, causing desolation in the jungle. One tiger decides to stop this practice of destruction which angers the other tiger. In ‘Ondipuli’, Ashwanath narrates the story with all the toys arranged to form a forest on the screen.
