Ashton Kutcher leaves his organization against child sexual abuse and explains why in a letter

Ashton Kutcher will step down as chairman of the board of Thorn, the anti-child sexual abuse organization that he and his ex-wife, Demi Moore, co-founded in 2009.

His current wife, Mila Kunis, was an observer on Thorn’s board of directors and will also leave the organization.

The couple’s decision to leave comes after their letters of support for convicted rapist Danny Masterson became public. Ashton and Mila have received a lot of backlash from the public for helping their That 70’s show co-star.

Ashton wrote in a letter to Thorn’s board of directors: “After my wife and I spent several days listening, personally reflecting, learning and conversing with Thorn survivors, employees and leadership, I have decided that the most responsible thing to do what I should do is give up. as Chairman of the Board of Directors, effective immediately. “I cannot allow my error in judgment to distract me from our efforts and the children we serve.”

She continued: “Victims of sexual abuse have historically been silenced and the character statement I submitted is another painful example of interrogating victims who are brave enough to share their experiences.”
