The actor died on Tuesday, 24 November 2020 at his home in Mumbai after suffering from kidney disease for a long time.

I was already facing financial crunch and the situation has become worse due to the lockdown. I had savings of Rs 2 lakh, which I spent during the first two days of hospitalisation. First, I got tested for COVID-19, which cost me around Rs 11,000, followed by other expenses. I spent around Rs 90,000 on one round of dialysis. I have to get a treatment done, which will cost me Rs 4 lakh, but I don’t have money to pay for it. So, I want to go back home, because I can’t afford the treatment. I am asking for financial assistance from people so that I can pay my medical bills to get discharged. I cannot continue to live here, even if I die tomorrow.”
