“The complicated thing from the beginning was not knowing if Aquaman would it come out first or would it come out later [The Flash]. So we had to be prepared. At the end of the day, the best thing I would say about this movie is that it is in no way connected to any of those movies. That is the bottom line,” he explained.

There were also rumors that bat Man Actors like Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton were hired to Aquaman 2.

“That’s a ‘no comment’ at this point. You’re going to have to wait for the movie to come out,” she said.

He also didn’t dispute the claim that James Gunn “influenced” the sequel, adding: “I’ve known James for a long time, right? We’re horror guys, so I’m definitely open to ideas. But at the end of the day “Well, this is my movie.”

“We have great actors in this movie and everyone’s schedule is really difficult. So we had to divide our shooting schedule into sections. We’ll do some filming here now, because this actor is available, and then we’ll do another shoot now, because this guy is available. People say, ‘Oh, they’re doing a lot of different photo shoots!’ No. If we really combine them all together, it’s actually not that many days at all.”

He was also asked about Amber Heard, who plays Mera. During her 2022 defamation trial involving her ex Johnny Depp, she claimed in court that Warner Bros. “didn’t want to include me” in the sequel due to the fallout from her divorce, saying it was “reduced” and that scenes of action were “removed.”

The director clarified that the film was never intended to focus on Mera and Aquaman like the 2018 film, saying that he always prioritized Aquaman’s relationship with his evil half-brother, Orm (Patrick Wilson).

“I always proposed this to everyone from the beginning. The first Aquaman It was Arthur and Mera’s journey. The second movie was always going to be Arthur and Orm. So, the first one was a romantic action-adventure movie, the second one is an action-adventure bromance movie. We’ll leave it at that.”

He then addressed the possibility of a third film, saying, “We’ve put certain things in a good place in the second film that you can definitely take advantage of in a third.”

However, he wasn’t so sure if he would direct it: “This movie has taken up so much, so much of my life, so much of my time, that the only thing I can think about now is taking a long break,” he said. of the film, which hits theaters on December 20.
