The first episode of Bravo’s new show, Real Girls in Paris (RGiP), premiered on Monday, September 5, 2022 and featured six American friends in the French city. While Anya Firestone has been living in Paris for a decade, the remaining five members of the group are struggling to make ends meet to continue their lavish lifestyle. Anya appears in Season 1, Episode 1 of Real Girlfriends in Paris, where she shares a Paris apartment with fiance Matthieu Rasset.
Matthieu made his debut in the first episode, joining Anya on the streets of Paris as the pair walked their dog, Zsa Zsa, who was also dressed in a trendy dog coat. He got plenty of screen time in the first episode, hinting that he’ll play a major role on the show.
Biography of Matthieu Rasset
Anya and Matthieu’s lifestyle during the Season 1 premiere of Real Girlfriends in Paris revealed that they both make a lot of money. Anya admitted on the show that she is a licensed tour guide who pays 500 euros for tours of the cultural and historical attractions of Paris.
On the other hand, Matthieu is a data scientist and luxury business expert. He was raised by physics and math teachers. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in international business from Le Havre University, and started his sales career after being interested in watches and their mechanics. After working in jewelry, watches and luxury for seven years, he decided to pursue a career in data science. Born in Paris, he is fluent in French, English, Japanese and Chinese.
Matthieu and Anya’s love story
In his personal life, he is engaged to Anya Firestone from Real Girlfriends in Paris. They met five years ago at the Ritz Paris’ Bar Hemingway and have been together ever since. Last year, Anya brought the bill from the pub where the couple first met in 2017.
The title of the Instagram post reads:
“I discovered the receipt August 13, 2017, Ritz, Paris, France: when I went to Bar Hemingway alone for a martini.” @matthie rasset feels the same way. We met that night and were never apart. “Happy 4th Anniversary, my love!”

The episode begins with individual member introductions and ends with an intimate Thanksgiving meal at Anya’s. Real Girls in Paris Season 1 Episode 1 also features Kacey Margo, Emily Gorelik, Adju Toure, Margaux Lignel and Victoria Zito along with Anya and her fiancé Matthieu. The opening episode also featured Jean Lignel, Margaux’s father, and Yoanne Mobengo, Victoria’s friend.
