Anurag Bhadauria is an Indian politician who is the national spokesperson of the Samajwadi Party. He was the former state sports minister in the Akhilesh Yadav government in Uttar Pradesh. He is the President of the Indian Rural Cricket League (IGCL).

Indecent comment on Yogi Adityanath
In November 2022, a complaint was filed by BJP spokesperson Hero Bajpai against Anurag for making derogatory remarks about Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his late guru Mahant Avaidyanath on a private news channel. In this complaint, Bajpayee claimed that Anurag said
If the Chief Minister had not been the legitimate son of Illegalnath, would he have become an MP?”
Due to which the sentiments of the followers of Mahant Avaidyanath have been hurt. Section 153 (incitement with intent to cause riot), 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion), 295A (intentional and malicious acts with intent to hurt religious sentiments) against Anurag at Hazratganj police station. FIR was registered under. Section 505 of IPC (publishing or circulating any statement, rumor or report with intent to provoke). After being asked by the police to appear at the police station, Anurag was on the run and approached the High Court for anticipatory bail but the court rejected his application.
