Anupam Shyam was an Indian film and television actor. He was popular for playing the role of ‘Thakur Sajjan Singh’ in the Hindi TV serial ‘Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya’ (2009) aired on Star Plus.

Anupam Shyam was born on Friday, 20 September 1957 (age 6 years at the time of death) in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. His zodiac sign is Virgo. He did his schooling from GIC Pratapgarh. Later, he joined Ram Manohar Lohia University in Faizabad. He graduated from Bharatendu Academy of Dramatic Arts, Lucknow in 1985. He joined the National School of Drama, Delhi in 1987.

Death
On 9 August 2021, he died of multiple organ failure at a hospital in Mumbai, where he was undergoing treatment for a kidney infection.

- On 28 July 2020, he was rushed to Lifeline Medicare Hospital in Mumbai due to kidney failure and admitted to the ICU. Anupam’s family asked for financial help for his treatment. Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) also shared a post requesting donations for the actor. During such a crisis, popular Bollywood actor Sonu Sood helped him.
Anupam’s brother Anurag said,
Anupam was undergoing dialysis at Apex Kidney Care in Malad, a suburb of north Mumbai. Right now there is a money crunch, so we are talking to people. We wrote the Being Human website. We have informed some of Anupam’s friends about his condition. Manoj Bajpayee ji had called and said that he will look into it.

- Following his demise on 9 August 2021, Anupam’s brother Anurag Shyam claimed that Aamir Khan had allegedly stopped picking up his calls, months after he promised to set up a dialysis center in Pratapgarh. Anurag also revealed that the actor was upset as he could not go to his hometown to meet his mother, who died a month before the actor’s demise. Anurag said,
Our family is going through a lot. My mother passed away last month. Anupam was surprised that he could not go to Pratapgarh (where his mother stayed). Without a dialysis center in the city, going there would have been a big risk to Anupam’s health. We requested for a dialysis center in Pratapgarh and Anupam even went to Aamir Khan for this.
