Anirudh was born on 28 October 1985 in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. He wanted to become an actor since childhood, but as there were no acting opportunities in his hometown, he chose to become a pilot. After not being satisfied with his pilot job, he pursued a career in acting. He struggled for almost five years to start his acting career.

livelihood
Initially, he started his career as a commercial pilot, but, in 2012, he left the pilot job to pursue a career in acting. Anirudh received acting training from some of the prestigious institutes like Barry John Acting Studio in Mumbai, National School of Drama in New Delhi and Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in New York City. At that time he also started doing street theater in Banaras. In 2015, he served as an executive producer for the film Parched. He also produced the film Te3n (2016).
Anirudh Tanwar got his first role as Kabir Mathur in the film Rajma Chawal opposite Rishi Kapoor in 2018. This film was released on Netflix.
