“That’s where it all started, it started with protecting her and then her children, my nieces and nephews,” James explained. “There are years of massive training, they are becoming young adults in their early 20s.”

He continued: “It’s crazy to think that, but yeah, I think it’s very natural. [to feel protective] and I just want to be there. Very similar to my mother. Every time I am lucky enough to be in her presence, I want to be in her presence.”

Another quality he says he inherited from his late mother, Marcheline Bertrand, is his ability to be there for his nephews Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, and Knox, 15, and his nieces Zahara, 18, Shiloh, 17, and Vivienne, 15. .

“[It’s] a quality I inherited from my mom, although cell phones weren’t as prevalent as they are now, but let’s go back to that idea that she would always be like that; ‘You’re the center of attention,’” James said. “I prepared my life to be able to be present in any situation. In the formative years, in the young adults they will become, I want to be there for them, or for her, whatever is going on.”

In a recent interview, Angelina talked about her family’s need to “heal,” being unimpressed with Hollywood and her plans to leave Los Angeles, her relationship status, her closest friends, and much more.
