american idol has crowned his new American Idol!
Colin Stough, Iam Tongi and Megan Danielle were the final three singers in the competition, each performing a handful of new songs on stage before the big announcement.
During the season finale, the rest of the season’s top 12, including Haven Madison, Marybeth Byrd, Lucy Love, Oliver Steele, Tyson Venegas, Warren Peay, Wé Ani, Zachariah Smith, and Nutsa, returned for performances.
Former Idol Also in attendance were contestants Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard, as well as James Blunt, Jelly Roll, Keith Urban, Lainey Wilson, Ellie Goulding, Pitbull, and TLC.

Iam Tongi was declared the winner of season 21!
The singer performed four songs in total throughout the night, beginning with Keith Urban’s “Making Memories of Us” and Kolohe Kai’s “Cool Down.”
Then, I teamed up with James Blunt for “Monsters,” and then I finished with his last song, “I’ll Be Seeing You.”
