Amazon is reportedly contemplating reboots for around a dozen hit movies and series that were owned by MGM after acquiring the studio.
If you were unaware, Amazon Studios purchased the rights to MGM for $8.5 billion in early 2022. Just over a year later, details are emerging about how they plan to incorporate some of the classics they now own into their release schedule.
That includes conversations about the future of franchises such as Legally Blonde and Robocop.

According to Deadline, Amazon Studios is looking at rebooting the above-mentioned titles as well as Stargate, Fame, Barbershop, The Magnificent Seven, Pink Panther, Poltergeist and The Thomas Crown Affair. Some of them are reportedly being considered for new movies, others for new television series and some for both.
For instance, Legally Blonde might get a long-awaited third movie as well as a television treatment. The third movie has been discussed quite a bit recently with franchise star Reese Witherspoon laying down one requirement for her to agree to return.
Both Robocop and Stargate could also be turned into new movies and series. Meanwhile, Pink Panther and Thomas Crown Affair might be getting new movies while Fame, Barbershop and The Magnificent Seven are being contemplated for new television series.
Speaking of Legally Blonde, Reese recently revealed a movie that heavily inspired the third release.
