As Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, he wielded considerable bureaucratic power during his tenure. In February 2020, he was booked by the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Chhattisgarh for possessing disproportionate assets.

Legal battle for disproportionate assets
In February 2020, Singh and his wife Yasmin Singh were accused of possessing disproportionate assets and an FIR was registered against them by the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Chhattisgarh. Aman Kumar Singh established the YN Singh Memorial Foundation (Trust) while serving in the Government of Chhattisgarh and allegedly used the foundation for money laundering and investing illegal funds obtained during his tenure in Chhattisgarh. Aman owned one-third of the foundation’s shares along with his brothers Asim Singh and Arun Singh. According to the allegations, Aman received huge sums of money in connection with the construction of the Naya Raipur project and a cricket stadium, preferring to accept these funds in his offshore bank accounts through Dubai. It is said that he earned monthly a total of Rs. Extortion of Rs 10 crore from various sources including police, excise and corporations. This money was allegedly sent to other states in India to finance his brothers’ companies. Additionally, it has been claimed that Aman and his family own large amounts of unaccounted land in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Delhi, Maharashtra and abroad. He is said to have made significant investments in major projects like Saudi Arabia’s ‘NEOM’ and Tunisia Economic City. Aman Kumar Singh reportedly bought apartments in Burj Khalifa, Dubai. These properties are said to have been purchased in the name of George Henry, adding to the list of allegations against him. After resignation from government service, Aman Kumar Singh Ratan joined India Power. Despite the financial insolvency of the company, he drew an annual salary of Rs. 6 crores, which raised questions about the company’s ability to make such huge payments. Aman Kumar Singh is also accused of guaranteeing payments in exchange for advertisements to major media outlets including India Today Group, Times Now Group and Republic. It is further claimed that he has acquired disproportionate assets worth more than Rs. 2,500 crore, which appears inconsistent with his legitimate sources of income. Aman’s wife Yasmin reportedly participated in various dance programs in India and abroad on the pretext of government duty. She is accused of purchasing land worth crores of rupees at prime places in Chhattisgarh including Temple Hasaud in the fake name of Bindu Kumari Omanna Amma. Furthermore, he is suspected to have links with several terrorist organizations and to coordinate with them in various capacities. Aman Kumar Singh was implicated in several scams and was allegedly involved in various fraudulent and suspicious transactions related to illegal activities. For example, around Rs. Rs 30 crore was transferred to Hong Kong under the guise of payment for mining machinery which was never imported. Approximately Rs. Rs 8 crore was sent to Dubai Feldspar but the money was deposited in Yasmin Singh’s account. In addition, more than a thousand acres of land was leased to the YN Singh Memorial Foundation Trust from KRIBHCO, a central government company owned by the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India. Several benami properties in Bhopal, Mandideep and Raisen were also transferred to this trust, raising further questions on the legality of Aman Kumar Singh’s transactions. According to the FIR, an amount of Rs 1,01,83,869 was deposited by ‘Cargil India Private Limited’ between April 2013 and July 2016 and an amount of Rs 75,55,058 was deposited by ‘Courtesan Consulting Private Limited’ between October 2018 and November 2016. 2019 in the bank account of Aman Kumar Singh.
