She studied at Jamnabai Narsee School, Mumbai. He did B.Com from NM College, Mumbai. He studied piano and pursued courses in music (Western classical, jazz and rock) from Trinity College of Music under the guidance of his teachers Benny, Xavier Fernandes, Tony Pinto and Joy Bose. He even received informal training under the guidance of his grandfather Sardar Malik.

livelihood
as a musician
After completing his 10th class, he immediately went to assist Amar Mohile (music composer and film score composer) for the soundtracks of “Sarkar (2005)” and “Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007)”. He later joined his father in arranging and producing music for films such as “Kisan (2009)”, in which he collaborated with pop singer Daler Mehndi on the remix track “Mere Desh Ki Dharti”. In 2014, he debuted as a composer, composing three tracks for the films “Jai Ho (2014)” and “Khoobsurat (2014)”.

In advertising and television
He has created over 100 advertising jingles for brands like Amul, Vodafone, Horlicks, Relaxo, Toyota, Cornetto, Indian Oil, Sunfeast, iBall and MakeMyTrip.com.

- When it was announced that Sonakshi was going to sing at Justin Bieber’s concert, there was a fierce war of words between her brother Armaan Malik and actress Sonakshi Sinha over the issue of actors becoming singers. Sonakshi’s brother Luv Sinha took a dig at her and her brother Armaan for ‘acting’ in their music videos. Amaal wrote a long post in which she extended her support to her brother and the singers and mocked Luv’s acting career.
- Amaal Malik once attacked the Filmfare jury for their ‘biased’ nature. He said he was ashamed of his nomination; As he said the songs he composed for the films were average and the other film like “MS Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016)” was a more important film with successful songs. He criticized Anil Kapoor’s son Harshvardhan getting all the awards for his debut film, while Diljit Dosanjh should have got the award for the film “Udta Punjab (2016)”.
- Amaal used the song “Neend Churai Meri Kisne O Sanam” from the film “Ishq (1997)” in the remake of “Golmaal Again (2017)”. However, the original composer of the song, Anu Malik, was not happy at all as he said that he had not taken his permission before. Amal replied that he did not need permission from them as he owned the rights to the original song ‘Sending All My Love by Linear’ on which the tune was based. He further said that he wanted to take permission, but his uncle did not pick up his call.
- Kapil Sharma was being trolled for his arrogant and egoistic nature. In which Malik brothers were somehow dragged, it was rumored that Amaal and Armaan walked out of Kapil’s show “The Kapil Sharma Show” because Armaan was not respected in the show. Amaal, who was supposed to appear on the show for Sonakshi Sinha’s upcoming film “Noor (2017)”, ultimately failed to appear on the show. Later, Amaal shut down the rumors by saying that Armaan was not supposed to come to the show and Amaal had to go out for some important work so he did not come to the show. He further said that whenever he has come to the show, Kapil Sharma has been very kind to him.
- When he revealed on social media that his favorite actor is Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan’s fans trolled him a lot. On September 15, 2020, he slammed trollers on Twitter.
