american idol is one of the most beloved competition shows on television today.
The singing series, which began as pop idol in the UK before its US release in 2012, has successfully emerged around the world with a slew of international releases, with major superstars as judges.
After airing on Fox from 2002 to 2016 for 15 seasons, it was on hiatus for two years until 2018, when a revival of the series began on ABC, and has aired since.
Over the years, many talents have judged and mentored contestants to the top. And one by one, they all eventually left the show to move on and do other things, even the last remaining original judge of the American series.
