Nandi Bushell is a 10-year-old Zulu-British considered one of the most promising rock and roll sensations in the world. Bushell has top-notch percussion skills, can play other musical instruments, and has a soulful voice as well. She can form a one man band if she wants.
Bushell became famous by posting music videos on social media. He covered famous songs like Bloom Nirvana and give a rock and roll twist to classic pop songs like those of Bruno Mars uptown funk. Nandi has met and performed with global icons like Lenny Kravitz and Questlove. Right now, she’s engaged in a fascinating internet battle with Nirvana drummer and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl.

Nandi’s mother, Lungi, hails from the South African coastal province of KwaZulu-Natal. She met John while on sabbatical in London and the couple fell in love. They got married and currently have two children: Nandi and her younger brother Thomas.
John and Lungi noticed Nandi’s talent when they bought him a toy drum kit. Nandi was only five years old at the time, but he nevertheless impressed John with his instinctive drumming. John had been in gangs since his teens and it helped him appreciate the extent of Nandi’s natural ability. he told the sunday time:
“I have met many drummers over the years, very good ones. I don’t know how to play the drums, but I understand good weather. When we brought the toy drum kit home when Nandi was five, it instantly hit the perfect beat. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. It was a perfect, instinctive rhythm.”
John is determined to see Nandi go as far as possible with his music, while Lungi strives to ensure his children stay connected to their South African roots. The family lives in Suffolk, England, but travels regularly to South Africa. Nandi also incorporates South African culture into the clothes she wears.
She is often dressed in traditional Zulu beadwork and African print clothing. “Nandi always enjoys the traditional Zulu dishes when we visit her, especially my mother’s cooking,” Lungi told the sunday time.
Nandi’s brother Thomas is skilled on the guitar and has already developed a computer game.
Nandi is more famous than her younger brother, but Thomas is likely to catch up with him soon. Thomas is a skilled guitarist, art lover, soccer player, and software developer. On March 31, 2020, Nandi’s father posted a video on Instagram showing how happy Thomas was after developing his first computer game. The caption read:
“So proud of Thomas! He made his first game from scratch today! We have more work to do, but he has lots of ideas. It reminds me why I fell in love with software engineering.”
