Alka Mittal started her career as a trainee at ONGC in 1985. Later, he worked as the Chief Skill Development (CSD) of the company. In 2018, she became the first woman to become a whole-time Director (HR) at ONGC. He served in this position for more than three years. In 2022, she became the first woman Chairman and Managing Director of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, where she conducted online interviews and applications in the company under the green recruitment process. When she was CSD, she created a scheme called ‘The National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme’ (NAPS) in ONGC, under which 5,000 apprentices were trained at various centres.
