Alfonso Ribeiro has revealed that his 3-year-old daughter has had to undergo surgery.
On Friday night (May 12), the 51-year-old dancing with the stars The driver revealed that his daughter Ava had to undergo surgery after a terrifying scooter accident, just one day before her fourth birthday.

“Not the kind of day you want the day before your fourth birthday. I just want to say a big thank you to @kareskinmd for the emergency service and procedure to help lessen the chance of being spooked. Very proud of how brave my girl was during surgery,” Alfonso wrote on Instagram, along with a photo of Ava’s of hers of her face and arm covered in scratches and bruises.
Alfonso’s wife, Ángela, shared the same photo on her own Instagram, writing: “My poor baby. I woke up and had a motherly vision/intuition that Ava would end up in the ER today. I announced to the family, kids, babysitter, and friends who helped set up Ava’s birthday party that ‘we’re not doing anything crazy or dangerous today that could lead to an emergency room visit.’”
“I literally made everyone look me in the eye when I said these words. Sadly, my words were soon forgotten and long story short, this poor girl crashed into a seated scooter… the day before her birthday,” Angela continued. “Many thanks to Dr. Raffy at @kareskinmd for seeing us after hours and performing a low scar procedure on my face and arms. Not a fun way to spend your last day as a 3-year-old, but she was a soldier. Giving this sweet girl some extra hugs tonight.💔”
