Ahmed started his music career as a singer in the 1990s with his band ‘Band Entity’. After some time his band merged with actor Fawad Khan’s band ‘Paradigm’. He named the band ‘Entity Paradigm’. In 2007, after giving some amazing performances the band parted ways and Ahmed started his own band, ‘Rubber Band’. However, even after hard work, he could not get the success that he was getting from Fawad Khan. In 2009, they again merged with ‘Paradigm Band’ and in 2010, the band appeared on Coke Studio (Pakistani Season 3).
Controversy
In 2021, Ahmed was embroiled in controversy when he responded to singer Ali Azmat, who had insulted Ahmed’s grandmother Noorjahan in an interview. Ahmed talked about this in an Instagram post and said,
I don’t hold it against him because he is also an artiste and knows very well that respect comes when you give respect, otherwise you are putting yourself in a position where people will insult your own legacy. As far as melody queen Noorjahan is concerned… “Gai Gaye Duniya Geet Mayre.”

- In 2021, Ahmed expressed on Instagram how saddened he is when production houses cast Indian actors to play Pakistani characters in films or television series. He talked about the Netflix series ‘Squid Game’ in which Anupam Tripathi played the Pakistani character Ali Abdul in the series.
- In 2022, Ahmed won the Pakistan International Screen Awards for Best Supporting Actor. After winning the award, he came into controversy when actor Ali Abbas said that the organizers had told him that he would win the award, but the award was given to Ahmed.
- In an interview, Ahmed talked about how actors have to go through body shaming in the entertainment industry and said,
If a man is short, tall or fat, he can only get certain types of roles, and we are bound to agree with that because we are in showbusiness. What we show becomes our business. In our industry there is more color shaming than body shaming. Everyone is crazy about fair complexion. And sadly, things will stay that way.”
