Former adult film star Emily Willis is reportedly on the mend after a health scare that left her in a vegetative coma earlier this year.
According to a recent report from TMZ, Willis, despite being in a vegetative state late last month, can track objects with his eyes. The 25-year-old actress was also reportedly able to smile and express emotions during the interactions.
However, his father is quoted in the latest report as saying that, unfortunately, doctors do not foresee any further improvements. Willis’ family hopes to move her to a facility near them, ensuring she continues to receive care close to her loved ones.
Regarding the origins of Willis’ condition, TMZ highlights the enigmatic nature of his cardiac arrest. Early ideas pointed to an accidental overdose, but early toxicology reports found no medication, making the cause a mystery.

In fact, Willis’ family addressed the “misinformation” surrounding his hospitalization. On a GoFundMe page in early March, Willis’ brother clarified that, according to his doctors and family, the overdose allegations are unfounded.
In the same update, Willis’ family revealed that she was in a vegetative coma, “fighting for her life,” and that funds raised were going toward medical costs. Although the initial fundraising goal was $60,000, contributions have now exceeded $70,000.
“Emily was receiving the treatment and help she needed at the time of the incident to overcome her struggles,” Willis’ brother wrote at the time.
“She retired from the adult industry almost two years ago and had aspirations of success in other fields of entertainment. Those who worked with her in her new career knew that she had the potential to achieve her dreams.”
“The road to recovery is difficult and uncertain ahead of us,” he added. “But we are doing everything we can to make sure Emily gets the care and love she needs.”
