Ace Frehley was born on April 27, 1951 in the Bronx, New York City, New York, United States to Carl Daniel Frehley and Ester Anna Hecht. His father is of Dutch descent from Pennsylvania, while his mother is a true American from North Carolina. The Frehleys were music fans. So when Space Ace received an electric guitar as a Christmas present in 1964, he got completely lost in it as a 13-year-old and hasn’t looked back since.
Jimi Hendrix, Albert Lee, Buddy Guy and The Rolling Stones were among Space Ace’s influences. Ace is the youngest of three siblings, the other two being classical guitarists, Nancy and Charles.
