Abigail Breslin opens up about her experience with little miss sunshine.
The 27-year-old actress opened up about her Oscar-nominated role when she was 10 in an interview with her former child star Christy Carlson Romano.

“That’s how I feel about child acting and everything is that they give you all the responsibility but none of the respect,” Abigail said.
“From a working child?” Christy laughed.
“Adults say, ‘We want you to be this way, this way, do this,’ whatever,” Abigail said.
“But your autonomy is like not,” Christy said.
“Yeah, it’s really not that important,” Abigail said.
Christy said she thought directors and other production staff members who were parents were better equipped to connect with child actors.
“It was much more pleasant to work with them. They could connect with us on a completely different level. But it is interesting. I don’t know if there is a solution there. “I don’t know if there is a real solution,” she noted.
“For example, when you work with children, you have to have a set of skills that make you feel good. Know?”
Abigail also recalled her role in Signsand how she didn’t want to go back to work when her mother came looking for her.
“My mom comes to see me later that day. She said, ‘Listen, I don’t care, if you don’t want to do this, if it’s not fun for you, that’s fine.’ We have to end your engagement, finish filming the movie, but you don’t have to do it again if you don’t want to.” She said, “But if you really don’t want to do it, they’ll have to find another girl to do the movie, which is fine.” . But you just have to let me know.’”
He added that he was too young to remember much from previous productions until Little miss sunwhen he was able to “retain more information.”
