Abhishek Jain was born on 14 January 1992 (age 30 years; as in 2022) in Panjipara, West Bengal. His family is a resident of Kishanganj, Bihar. Their zodiac sign is Capricorn. He did his schooling from DPS RK Puram, Delhi. He did his graduation from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata. After this he did MBA from IIM Visakhapatnam.

As Abhishek has said in many of his videos, he took admission in an MBA course which was high on ROI but was not to his liking so he left it and started working at Groupon India. In an interview he said,
Exactly 7 years ago today, I took the metro from an office in Gurgaon to my flat in GTB Nagar and I had to prepare myself to live with the fact that I would probably never be able to do an MBA. In life. I joined the MBA in Analytics program which I had no interest in and I didn’t appear for 3 final semester exams in the hope that I would get into one of the tier 1B schools which I was waitlisted for. (I re-examed for CAT while he was still in the MBA program). I was 23 years old and I had failed my masters course. I took a job where other MBAs worked. I didn’t mind that I never did an MBA in my life. Today seven years later, I am a teacher and a content creator on MBA programs in India. Life takes U turns like this. If you’re 23/24 and you feel like all the doors are closed to something you’re passionate about, know that life is a marathon, not a sprint. You never know what you can achieve tomorrow.”
The biggest mistake, as Abhishek recalled, was that he did the same things he was supposed to do till the age of 23. It was only after he turned 23 that he started doing what he wanted to do and his life changed for good. After completing his MBA, Abhishek joined Capgemini Management Consulting Company in Mumbai as a management consultant where for 3 years till 2021. In 2021, he left consulting to join his family business and started YouTube. Talking about this in an interview he said,
I left my well-paid management consulting job in September 2021. I did not have any well-structured plan to move forward but I wanted to give at least a year to my family business. A lot of experts questioned this decision – without me asking (that’s India for you – we are adept at giving opinions on the lives of others as opposed to our own). There is no doubt that this decision could have had massive consequences.”
He also talked about starting YouTube further. He said,
However, after a year, I suddenly got a chance to create a YouTube channel. Today when I am an influencer in the MBA sector, the first question I am asked is – How did I plan to create this YT channel? And I answer honestly every time – I had no plans to create a YT channel. Creating a channel is different from making videos. I just wanted to make some videos. I kept making videos because I started enjoying it. Why I started enjoying it – This is where my September 2021 decision came into effect; I had time for myself. Time for yourself.”
Abhishek enjoys making videos and says that he will continue to make at least 2 videos a week, even if people stop watching them. Abhishek is a fan of Harsha Bhogle who graduated from IIM and always wanted to make his mark in the creative field like Harsha. Abhishek comes from a small place called Kishanganj where he has shot his first 120 YouTube videos. He set up a small studio on the top floor of his house where he shoots three videos on Sundays. In his remaining 6 days, he contributes to his family textile business which is established on the ground floor of his house. Currently, Abhishek has joined a startup as their YouTube head. Despite managing YT along with his full-time commitments, Abhishek has garnered 58k subscribers in a short span of 1 year.
He has gone to live in 8 cities including all the metros of India. Abhishek also dropped out of MBA college in Delhi before joining his first company, Groupon, which he considers the best decision of his life. Later he joined IIM Visakhapatnam and was part of the placement committee. Most of Abhishek’s videos give the viewers a true and real picture of what life is like in B schools and what life is like beyond. Before starting on YouTube, Abhishek worked in the corporate world for 5 years. He has studied from the best institutions of India – DPS RK Puram, New Delhi and St. Xavier’s College Kolkata.

- Abhishek was always a bright student in his childhood. He was always one of the top three students of his class in school. When he occasionally came in fourth place, his mother became very disappointed as she herself was a lifelong achiever. Because of his mother’s love, Abhishek topped his class for many consecutive years. When he was 15 he left his hometown Kishanganj to study at DPS RK Puram Delhi. After this he did BBA in Marketing from St. Xavier’s Kolkata. In 2016, he did MBA from IIM Visakhapatnam. While talking about his school and college in an interview, he said,
I would always stand in the top 3 students in the class (out of over 150) for 10 consecutive years in school. On the rare occasions when I came fourth, my mother would have tears in her eyes and she would later tell me that there was a reason there were three classes on the train and the fourth rank did not exist for her. , For the love of my mother, I will excel in school for 10 consecutive years. However, as soon as I left my hometown, one definition of freedom for me was being able to get any rank in class. Freedom does not mean education. This was one of the reasons why I was among the last rankers in college-St. However I soon realized that I needed the attention I got in school. I had lost my identity. So when I went to IIM Visakhapatnam for MBA, I did everything I could – being a part of Placecom, participating in B school competitions, compering/anchoring at B school fests, teaching marketing and OB to peers. , Receiving multiple job offers. I couldn’t top but I never wanted to top. I did things I really wanted to do and still be popular in college. I wish I could do more things like this in school. I think as people get older, they become who they were always meant to be. The sooner we do this, the happier we will be!”
