Leo Singer was born on 31 July 1991 (age 32 years; as of 2023) in Sendhwa, Madhya Pradesh, India. From his maternal grandfather he inherited his interest in Hindustani classical music; And gave his first stage performance at the age of 5.

Then, he started attending part-time music classes at AR Rahman’s ‘KM Music Conservatory’ in Chennai; As part-time. At the academy, he was part of a Qawwali group that performed at private functions. At that time AR Rahman was looking for a new voice for a song in the Telugu film Kaadhal (2013). When Rahman saw him singing qawwali, he asked him for a voice test.
