Stahl once told People that they were both reporting on the Watergate incident in 1972 and remarked,
“He phoned me out of nowhere. I believe I slammed the phone on him. We kept track of the hearings and trials. When Nixon eventually resigned, we looked at one other and asked, ‘What are we going to talk about now?’”
The couple discussed their initial encounter in 1977, claiming that Latham saw Stahl on the TV and they met in person. Latham said that he switched on the television to see what Stahl looked like and felt she was stunning.
When asked about their first date, Latham said he didn’t have to worry about whether or not he could communicate since he didn’t have the opportunity. They married in 1977 and had a daughter, Taylor Stahl Latham.
