A casting director who will help select the next actor to play James Bond in the popular film franchise has raised a major requirement for Daniel Craig’s replacement.

In a new interview, casting director Debbie McWilliams revealed what they’re looking for as they search for a new actor to accept the role.

According to Debbie, the team is looking for an actor who has some life experience. That means they’re looking for someone older to take over.
“When we started, it was a slightly different feeling,” he told the RadioTimes. “We looked at a lot of younger actors, and I just don’t think they had the seriousness. They didn’t have the experience, they didn’t have the mental capacity to take it on, because it’s not just the part they’re taking on, it’s a huge responsibility.”
He went on to say, “So we scrapped that idea, went back to the drawing board, and started over.”
They added that they’re not necessarily looking for a star with countless blockbusters to their name.
“Timothy Dalton was known, but he was really known as a Shakespearean actor. cross [Brosnan] it was known, but that was basically because of the television. Roger Moore was known from television. Sean Connery was not [known] – no one had ever heard of him,” he said of previous James Bond actors. “A certain audience had heard of Daniel Craig, but much more of the indie film type of audience.
