Sean “Diddy” Combs is being honored in a big way.
The 53-year-old superstar received the Global Icon Award from the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, the network confirmed.
He will also return to the VMA stage for a live performance, his first since 2005.

“Diddy will receive the Global Icon Award for his unparalleled career and continued influence that has achieved unparalleled global success in music and beyond,” MTV announced.
He’s also been nominated in four categories at this year’s VMAs: twice for Best Collaboration with “Gotta Move On,” which features Bryson Tiller, Ashanti and Yung Miami, and Metro Boomin’s “Creepin’,” which also features the Weeknd. and 21 Savage. He is also nominated for Best Hip Hop for “Gotta Move On” and Best R&B for “Creepin’.”
