In 1967, his single “Tell It Like It Is,” which was issued on a small New Orleans label, topped the Billboard R&B chart for five weeks and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. It sold more than a million copies and marked Aaron. Neville’s breakthrough as a successful celebrity singer.

His fame grew over the years and he had very productive associations with vocalists such as Linda Ronstadt, Anne Murray and Trisha Yearwood.

In addition to his solo career, he was a member of the group Neville Brothers, which included his brothers Cyril, Charles and Art.
